• George Barrera

    Preaching Minister

What I Do: I am the preaching minister at the Trace. My primary responsibilities are preaching and teaching the Word and working closely with our shepherds to formulate a vision for the future. I also work closely with our mission effort in San Vicente, B.C., Mexico.

Interesting Facts About Me: I've been married for 30 years to Renee' Swindle Barrera. I have two grown children, Andrew and Anna, and a daughter-in-law, Christina. I'm the proud new grandpa of Matthew. I've watched a practice round at Augusta National. I attended George Strait's final tour in San Antonio. I sort of speak two languages. I am 6'0" (wink).

I Choose To Worship At The Trace Because: I believe in the direction of our Church, and trust our shepherds. Most of all I love the people here! They love God! It's evident in how they worship, serve this community, and give generously to God's mission.

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Family, playing all sports (as I age, mainly golf), following Spurs basketball, eating Mexican food with Renee', and playing with my dogs.

  • David Gallo

    Family Life Minister

    What I do?

I work as the Family Life Minister here at the Trace. I love working with all ages in this church family trying to connect, equip and encourage people to become more in love with Jesus the community and become more involved in the work of the church.

    Interesting Facts?

While in school at Harding, I had the opportunity to spend a semester in Greece and Turkey, studying and touring the biblical lands. Before proposing to my wife, Jessica, I lost the engagement ring but thankfully, found it later in a gas station trash can 7 hours later. My hometown of Evening Shade Ar-kansas was inspired by a TV show titled “Evening Shade” with Burt Reynolds. First time I ever saw a limo is when Burt Reynolds came into town.

I chose to worship at the Trace.

The Vision of this church is encouraging and is willing to do whatever it takes to reach the lost and love the community.

A few of my favorite things.

I love dogs! Especially my dog Newman. I am a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan. I love Baseball and watch the Houston Astros as much as possible. I have loved serving the people of Ghana, Africa on several mission trips. I also love to talk anything Bible and study it. I love anything outdoors: camp-ing, skiing, hiking, canoeing, etc. But most importantly I love my wife Jessica and pursue her as much as I can.
